Light in the Darkness: Sharing Iftar and Standing with Sudan This Ramadan

As dusk falls across Sudan, the sky shifts into soft shades of gold and purple, marking the end of another long day of fasting. For many families, however, the challenge is not only the fast itself, but the struggle to find enough food to break it. In these quiet, emotional moments before iftar, hope arrives in the form of a shared meal one that brings relief, comfort, and a sense of unity.

Throughout Ramadan, we are on the ground each day delivering iftar meals to those who need them most. With dedication and care, our teams prepare and distribute food to communities facing hardship, ensuring that no family is left without something to eat at sunset. You can see it in the small but meaningful moments hands raised in prayer, families gathered closely together, and the visible sense of gratitude as meals are received.

Providing iftar in Sudan is not only about feeding peopleit is about standing beside them during one of the most sacred times of the year. It is a reminder that even in the most difficult circumstances, kindness continues to reach across distances, bringing people together through compassion and shared humanity.

This work is made possible by the continued support of the Lily Jay Foundation, whose generosity allows us to deliver daily iftar meals to families in Sudan throughout Ramadan.
