For years, families in this community in Uganda struggled every day to access clean water. Children and parents walked long distances under the heat, carrying heavy containers just to collect unsafe water from limited sources. Many families depended on contaminated water for drinking, cooking, and washing. Illness caused by dirty water became common, and children often spent hours searching for water instead of attending school or resting at home.
Today, a newly completed water well began providing clean, safe water to the community. Families gathered around as water flowed for the first time, filling containers with relief and emotion after years of hardship. Children stood close to the well, smiling and laughing as clean water poured out. Some rushed forward to wash their hands and drink immediately, experiencing safe drinking water directly from their own community source.
The new well will provide reliable access to clean water for families who previously faced daily uncertainty and long journeys just to survive. For many, it marks the beginning of safer and healthier days ahead. This project was made possible through the support and coordination of the Lily Jay Foundation, helping bring clean water and lasting relief to communities in need.
