The crisis in Sudan has pushed millions of innocent families into unimaginable hardship. Entire communities, mothers, children, and the elderly, have been forced to flee their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Many walked for days seeking safety, food, and shelter.
This week, the Lily Jay Foundation carried out an emergency food distribution for Sudanese families displaced by the war. These are people who escaped the conflict zones with nowhere to turn, living in makeshift shelters and isolated rural huts, desperately waiting for help to reach them.
And getting help to them has been one of the most challenging operations we have ever done.
Blocked Roads, Police Stops & No Filming Allowed
Our teams faced repeated obstacles just trying to reach these families:
Multiple teams were stopped by authorities who refused to let aid vehicles pass.
Some officers did not allow filming or photography, making documentation nearly impossible.
Several locations were declared “restricted,” forcing our volunteers to reroute through unsafe backroads.
In some areas, officers told our team they were “not allowed” to distribute food without special permissions that don’t formally exist.
It has been exhausting, emotionally draining, and at times risky. But we pushed through because the families we met were surviving on almost nothing.
When the boxes were finally delivered, the relief on the faces of the mothers, the excitement of the children, and the gratitude of the elderly made every difficulty worth it.
Understanding the Conflict: What’s Happening in Al-Fashir
Sudan is facing one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises right now, especially in the region of Al-Fashir in North Darfur.
Here’s a simple breakdown:
🔴 Two powerful groups are fighting for control
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF)
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF)
Their clashes have turned cities into battlegrounds.
🔴 Al-Fashir has become a “city under siege”
Markets have burned
Hospitals have been destroyed
Civilians are trapped between the fighting
Food prices have skyrocketed
Many families fled with nothing
The UN has warned of mass displacement and “catastrophic hunger.” The people we helped are part of this wave — Sudanese families forced to run for their lives.

Your Support Is Reaching the Forgotten
These families rarely receive international aid. They are too far removed, too rural, and often overlooked. But because of your generosity, we reached them.
This mission reminded us why we do this work:
To stand with the forgotten.
To bring hope where hope is fading.
To let people know they are not alone.
Thank you for continuing to support our emergency work.
May every donation you give ease the suffering of those caught in this devastating conflict.
