In the heart of Gaza, where homes stand in rubble, classrooms have turned to dust, and childhood has been interrupted by the sound of conflict, something beautiful is still growing. Hope. Faith. Light. And it begins with the words of Allah.

Over recent weeks, the Lily Jay Foundation has been honoured to deliver Qurans directly into the hands of Gaza’s children. Many of these young boys and girls have lost everything, family members, homes, schools, yet their eyes shine with a desire to learn, to hold onto their faith, and to stay connected to Allah سبحانه وتعالى.

A Quran in a Child’s Hands Is More Than a Book

It's comfort. It's healing. It's guidance. It’s something no one can take away.

For many children, this was the first Quran they have ever owned. We witnessed little faces light up as pages were opened with wonder. They traced the Arabic letters gently with their fingertips, holding each verse like treasure.

Quran Classes in Gaza

Alongside distribution, our team on the ground is running Quran classes, safe gatherings where children come to learn tajwīd, memorisation, and understand the words of their Creator. Even in the most difficult circumstances, they sit cross-legged on mats, repeating verses softly, voices rising above the sounds of hardship.

Every lesson becomes a moment of peace.A space to breathe.A chance to remember Allah is with them.
