A Meal of Mercy: Bringing Iftar and Relief to Families in Sudan

As the call to prayer echoes at sunset during Ramadan, families across Sudan prepare to break their fast. For many, this sacred moment arrives after a day not only without food or water, but also amid difficult living conditions and uncertainty. In these moments, a shared iftar meal becomes a powerful reminder that compassion and generosity still reach those who need them most.

Every day throughout Ramadan, our teams and volunteers work diligently to provide freshly prepared iftar meals to families in need. From carefully organizing food packages to distributing warm meals before sunset, the goal is simple yet meaningful: to ensure that as many people as possible can break their fast with dignity. Mothers, fathers, and children gather together as the fast ends, grateful for a moment of nourishment and togetherness during this blessed month.

These daily iftar distributions are more than just meals they are acts of solidarity that bring hope to communities facing hardship. By coming together around the table, even in challenging circumstances, families are reminded that they are supported and remembered during Ramadan.

This humanitarian effort is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Lily Jay Foundation, whose commitment helps provide iftar meals to families across Sudan each day during the holy month.
