Emergency food assistance was distributed to families in Gaza on Wednesday as shortages of essential supplies and rising food insecurity continue to affect thousands of residents.
With supply chains disrupted and prices soaring, many households are struggling to secure enough food to meet daily needs. The latest distribution provided basic food items aimed at helping families cope with ongoing shortages.
Local partners coordinated the aid delivery, prioritising vulnerable groups including displaced families, children, and the elderly. Aid workers said the assistance was designed to provide immediate relief as longer-term access to food remains limited.
Humanitarian organisations have warned that prolonged shortages and restricted access to food are increasing the risk of malnutrition, particularly among children and pregnant women. Overcrowded living conditions and limited cooking fuel have further compounded the crisis.
The food distribution comes amid repeated calls from international agencies for expanded humanitarian access into Gaza, stressing the urgent need for sustained food deliveries and other essential aid.
