Hundreds of displaced families in Sudan received food supplies today as hunger continues to affect communities facing conflict and displacement. Our workers arrived early in the morning to distribute essential food packages to families struggling without stable access to meals.
Large crowds gathered as sacks of rice, flour, beans, cooking oil, and bottled water were unloaded and handed out to waiting families. Many parents stood in long lines carrying children in their arms, hoping to secure enough food for the coming days. Residents said food shortages continue to worsen across several areas, with many families surviving on very little each day. Parents reported skipping meals so their children could eat.
Our workers continued moving between displacement camps and affected neighborhoods throughout the day, working to reach as many vulnerable families as possible despite difficult conditions.
This humanitarian food distribution was made possible through the support of the Lily Jay Foundation, helping provide meals and essential supplies to families and children in Sudan.
