Sharing Iftar Together: A Ramadan Meal for Families in Uganda

As the sun set this evening across communities in Uganda, families gathered together to break their fast during the holy month of Ramadan. For many households, the arrival of food for iftar brought not only nourishment but also a moment of happiness and relief after a long day of fasting.

Packages included simple but important items such as rice, bread, and other basic foods that allowed families to prepare an iftar meal and gather together at the end of the day. Children sat beside their parents waiting patiently for the call to prayer, while neighbors shared what they had with one another.

For many of the families who received assistance, the support meant they could fully observe Ramadan without the worry of how they would provide food for the evening meal. Smiles and quiet gratitude filled the gatherings as people broke their fast together.

The LilyJay Foundation shared that this effort is part of its continued commitment to supporting vulnerable communities during Ramadan. By helping provide iftar meals, the foundation hopes to ensure that more families can experience the spirit of the holy month with food on their tables and hope in their hearts.
