The Mosque Walls Are Up in Our Al-Obeid Camp

Alhamdulillah, the mosque project in our sponsored camp in Al-Obeid, Sudan is continuing to progress.
After sharing the early stages of construction — where the wooden frame and supporting sticks were first erected — we are now able to show the next stage, with the walls of the mosque now in place.
This moment is especially meaningful because the project is no longer just a marked-out structure. It is now visibly becoming a real place of worship for the camp.
With the walls going up, the mosque begins to offer not only form, but function — shade, privacy, and a clearer sense of space for prayer and community use.
For displaced families living in difficult conditions, even a simple mosque carries enormous value. It provides a place to turn to Allah, a place for children to learn, and a place for the community to come together with dignity.
Watching this project develop step by step is a reminder that meaningful change often happens gradually. First the relocation. Then the first poles. Then the walls. And with each stage, the community moves closer to having a proper place for worship.
We are grateful to everyone who supports Lily Jay Foundation and helps us continue these vital efforts on the ground.
The next update, inshaAllah, will be the most special of all — the opening and celebration of the completed mosque.
