A Moment of Joy in Gaza’s Longest Days

In the heart of Gaza, where every day is a test of strength, something beautiful happened. Our foundation arrived with one of the simplest gifts, fresh fruits. Nothing fancy. Nothing huge. Yet the impact was unforgettable.
Children gathered quickly, forming long lines that stretched further than we expected. They teased each other, nudged their friends, and laughed in that innocent way only children can holding on to joy even when life around them is heavy. Their excitement wasn’t just visible… it was powerful. It filled the air.
And when the fruits finally reached their hands, everything changed. Their smiles lit up faces that have carried far too much worry for their age. For a moment, the noise of hardship faded. For a moment, all that existed was happiness, sweetness, and the feeling that someone remembered them.
These children deserved that moment. They deserved to feel seen, valued, loved. And we are honored that we could give them even a small slice of joy in a place where joy is often delayed.
This is why we continue. This is why we show up. Because in Gaza, even a piece of fruit can become a spark of hope something that reminds them, and us, that light still exists.
