Gaza: Ramadan Iftar Meals Reach Families in Need

In Gaza, families gathered at sunset today to receive iftar meals prepared for those observing Ramadan. As the day’s fast came to an end, people arrived quietly and took their places, waiting for the moment they could finally eat. We distributed food to households and children who had spent the day fasting. When the call to prayer signaled the end of the fast, the meals were opened and shared. Dates and water were passed around first, followed by warm dishes that many families had been waiting for since early morning.

Children sat beside one another, holding their plates carefully. Some smiled as they began eating, while others looked up to thank the volunteers who helped organize the meal. For many of them, the evening gathering brought not only food but also a feeling of care and support.Across the area, families shared what they had and ensured everyone around them was able to take part in the meal. In the spirit of Ramadan, the evening became a moment of generosity and solidarity within the community.

This iftar support was made possible through the generosity of donors and supporters. At Lily Jay Foundation, we continue working to provide food assistance and relief to vulnerable families in Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan.
