Feeding the Sick in Gaza Hospitals: A Mission of Mercy and Justice

ree

In the heart of Gaza, Palestine, we witnessed a reality that is almost impossible to describe in words.

A place where hospitals are no longer buildings of healing, but tents struggling to shelter the sick and wounded. A place where survival is a daily battle against hunger, pain, and unimaginable injustice.

Our team recently had the honor to serve food in one of these hospitals, though to call it a hospital feels unfair, as it was nothing more than a makeshift tent. Inside, patients lay in critical condition, doctors fought with no resources, and families prayed for relief.

We prepared food, and we gave each person what we could. A warm meal, yes, but more than that, a message: you are not forgotten.

Every plate of food reminded us that every grain of rice is a gift from Allah ﷻ. For so long, many of us, including myself, took food for granted. But seeing the injustice in Gaza, seeing people in pain still smile with gratitude over a small portion of rice, it changes you forever. It teaches you that the blessings we waste are the very lifelines others are begging for.

The Injustice in Gaza

The people of Palestine are enduring one of the greatest injustices of our time. Imagine being sick, weak, and in need of urgent care, yet your hospital is a tent. Imagine being hungry and not knowing if your children will eat tomorrow.

This is not a natural disaster. This is not poverty caused by lack of resources. This is deliberate oppression, a system that has stripped the Palestinian people of their rights, their safety, and their dignity.

And yet, amidst all this suffering, their faith remains unshaken. They smile. They pray. They say Alhamdulillah for what little they have. Their resilience is a lesson to all of us.

Why We Must Act

Feeding the sick in Gaza was not charity, it was a responsibility. As Muslims, we are taught that the blessings we enjoy are not truly ours until we share them. The Qur’an reminds us again and again of the obligation to stand against injustice and to support the oppressed.

Now more than ever, the people of Gaza need the world to stand with them. Not just in words, but in action. Every donation, every meal, every voice raised for justice makes a difference.

A Call to Humanity

We cannot turn a blind eye. We cannot continue living our comfortable lives while our brothers and sisters in Gaza suffer in silence. We must feed the hungry. We must provide for the sick. And we must continue to call out the injustice until the world is forced to listen.

To those who have supported our efforts: may Allah reward you abundantly. Let every plate of food be a symbol of hope. Let every act of kindness be a step towards justice. And let us never forget that every grain of rice we give is a blessing multiplied in the sight of Allah.
