Israel Continues Bombardment as Violence Spreads to Occupied East Jerusalem

Israel’s assault on Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories has continued, with deadly attacks reported in both Gaza and East Jerusalem.

According to Wafa news agency, two Palestinian teenagers were shot and killed by Israeli forces in the Kafr Aqab neighbourhood of occupied East Jerusalem. In southern Gaza, a displaced Palestinian was killed near the so-called yellow line south of Khan Younis, a Nasser Hospital source told Al Jazeera.

Meanwhile, Gaza’s Government Media Office reported that Israeli forces and tanks have pushed around 300 metres beyond the yellow line in eastern Gaza City, intensifying ground operations in areas where civilians remain trapped.

Israel’s war on Gaza has now killed more than 69,500 Palestinians and wounded over 170,000, according to local authorities. In Israel, 1,139 people were killed during the October 7 attacks and around 200 others were taken captive.

The situation continues to deteriorate as violence expands beyond Gaza, deepening the humanitarian crisis across the occupied territories.
