Palestinians Lose Hope in Ceasefire After Deadly Israeli Strikes on Gaza

ree

Fear and despair are growing across Gaza as the fragile ceasefire shows signs of collapse. Wednesday’s wave of Israeli strikes claimed the lives of more than 100 people, mostly women and childrenleaving families mourning and communities shattered.

Despite the violence, US President Donald Trump insists the ceasefire remains intact, while mediator Qatar expressed frustration but pledged to continue efforts toward the next phase of the truce.

The conflict’s shadow stretches beyond Gaza. Israeli forces carried out an assassination in Lebanese territory, prompting Lebanon’s President Michel Aoun to warn that any future incursions would be met with force.

Since the war erupted in October 2023, Gaza has endured unimaginable suffering: at least 68,527 killed and 170,395 wounded. In Israel, the October 7 Hamas led attacks left 1,139 dead and around 200 captured. Families on both sides continue to pay a devastating human toll, as hopes for peace hang by a thread.
